William Hugo

William "Greg" Gregory Hugo, age 60 of Neodesha, Kansas passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017 in Independence, Kansas.

Celebration of Life Services will be held Tuesday May, 30, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Neodesha Municipal Airport with Bob Casino officiating. Burial will follow at the Mound Valley Cemetery under the direction of the Loran Fawcett Chapel of Neodesha, KS. Inclement weather location: Neodesha Civic Center.

Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 29, 2017 with the family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Loran Fawcett Chapel.

Greg was born August 30, 1956 in Wichita, Kansas to William E. and Juanita M. (McMurray) Hugo. He grew up in Parsons, Kansas before graduating from the Independence High School in 1976. Greg then graduated from Coffeyville Vo-Tech as a certified Auto Mechanic/ Auto Body Technician. He received his pilots license from Spartan School of Aeronautics, as well as his Powerplant Technician license. Later he received his Airframe license.

On November 6, 1980 Greg married Johnna Rowden in Bartlesville, Oklahoma where the couple made their home for five years before moving to Wichita, KS. Greg worked at Beechcraft and built engine reduction drives for Javelin in Augusta, Kansas. The couple moved to Neodesha in 1993 where he worked for Kansas Aviation and the Chanute Airport. Greg was owner and operator of Bud's Janitor Supplies since 1996.

Survivors include his wife Johnna Hugo of the home; mother Juanita Hugo of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one son William "Bill" Gregory Hugo Jr. of Caney, Kansas; two daughters Kimberly Hugo-Norton of Neodesha, Kansas and Kelly Sabol of Pittsburg, KS; one sister Verna Selvidge of Sperry, Oklahoma; five grandchildren Kolby Hugo, Brendan Arnold, Katie Arnold, Drew Elrod and Brynlee Elrod.

Greg was preceded in death by his father William "Bud" E. Hugo, sister Juanita "Tookie" Lay and son in law Aaron Norton.
