Wayne Russell Logan, age 83 of Neodesha, Kansas died Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at the Golden Keys Nursing Home in Neodesha, Kansas. Wayne was born July 1, 1919 in Wilson County, Kansas to Russell Descum and Ollie Waverly Crumley Logan. He grew up in Neodesha, Kansas and graduated from the Neodesha High School in 1938. On October 31, 1943 Wayne married Dorthy Wilson in Neodesha, Kansas where they made their home. Wayne worked for Harold Green Skelly from 1942 to 1948 as an auto mechanic. In 1948 he owned and operated the Standard Station on eight and main until 1958. He then leased station from Little Bear until 1985 when he retired after 42 years as an auto mechanic. Survivors include his wife Dorthy of the home; sons Robert and wife Teri Logan and David Logan both of Neodesha, Kansas; one brother Billy Logan of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and one sister Marjorie Orr of Neodesha, Kansas; two granddaughters Jeanne Austin of Parsons, Kansas and Tessa Logan of Chanute, Kansas and one great grandchild Collin Logan of Chanute, Kansas and caregiver Cheri Scheeringa. Cremation has taken place and Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2003 at the Bethel Cemetery with the Rev. Dave Cheshier officiating under the direction of the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home. Friends may contact the family at Dorthyamp;s home 127 Mill, Neodesha, Kansas, 66757. The family has suggested memorials to the American Parkinsonamp;s Disease Association and contributions may be left at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home.
