Wanita Ross

Wanita L. Ross, 67, of Neodesha died May 17, 2015 at the Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Loran Fawcett Chapel. Inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Friends of W. A Rankin Library and may be left at the funeral home.
Wanita was born January 31, 1948 in Neodesha to LeRoy and Vivan Van Middlesworth Wright. She grew up in Neodesha and graduated from Neodesha High School in 1966.
She was very active in 4-H, Girl Scouts, Jobs Daughters, Rebekah's and Friends of the Library.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Neodesha. Wanita married Louie Ross on June 2, 1966 in Coffeyville, KS. They lived in Oklahoma for 8 years then moved to Florida, and later moved back to Neodesha in 1992. She was a self-employed seamstress and loved to do oil and water paintings.
She is survived by her husband, daughter Camia Taylor, son Billy Ross both of Neodesha, a sister Rosella Thapp of Sylvan Grove, KS, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sons; Louie Ross III and Delbert Ross.
