Vonnie E. Claibourn, 82, of rural Neodesha, passed away at her home Thursday morning, December 17, 2015. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held Monday, December 21, 1:00 at the Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha. Inurnment will be at a later date at Grandview Cemetery.
Vonnie was born Nov. 28, 1933 in Newark, Arkansas to Vaughn and Roberta (Dugger) Stafford. She graduated from Newark High School in 1952. She married Raymond Claibourn April 17, 1954 in Wichita, Kansas. The family moved back to rural Neodesha in 1964.
Vonnie was employed at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons and retired from ACC in Independence.
She enjoyed taking care of her family, her home, her flowers, and yard.
Survivors include: daughter Sondra and son-in-law Steve Jensen, Neodesha; son Danny and daughter-in-law Karen Claibourn, Neodesha; daughter-in-law Gerri Claibourn, Neodesha; brother Verdell and Norma Stafford of Newark, Arkansas; grandchildren: Stacy, Scott Jensen, Sarah Jensen Johnson, Bryan, Derek, Tyler, Lance, Austyn Claibourn, Ashly Claibourn Edens, Jacinda Claibourn Hahn, and Nathan Claibourn; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Vonnie was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, son Darrel, one brother, one sister and a grandson.
Memorials may be made to the Bluestreak Greenhouse or Harry Hynes Hospice and may be left at the Chapel.
