THOMAS TOM CURTIS WHISLER Thomas Tom Curtis Whisler, age 80, of Neodesha, Kanas died Thursday, May 9, 2002 at the Wilson County Hospital in Neodesha, Kansas. Tom was born April 25, 1922 in Rural Wilson County, Kansas to Walter and Nora Hicks Whisler. Tom attended the Sorgum Valley Schools and lived in Altoona area. On June 25, 1945 Tom married Rose Jansen at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Neodesha, Kansas. Tom retired from Emerson Electric, he also worked for Cherryvale Smeleder, and the Parsons Ammunition Plant, he also did construction and odd jobs. He was been a member of the St. Ignatius Catholic Church since 1945. Survivors include his wife Rose Whisler of the home, one daughter Jeanette McCollum of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, one brother Roy Whisler of Neodesha, Kansas, one sister Thelma Reynolds of Neodesha, Kansas and seven grandchildren, and three great granddaughers. He was preceded in death by his parents, three children Danny Whisler, Christina Woods, and Linda Whisler, one brother Elmer Whisler and one sister Betty Whisler. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2002 at the ST. Ignatius Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Neodesha Cemetery under the direction of the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home. Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2002 at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church.
