THELMA B. STREETS Thelma Benisha Streets died Saturday, May 14, 2005, at her home in Neodesha, KS. She was 89. Memorial graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2005, in Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence, KS, under the direction of Penwell Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. Pastor Jim Logan will officiate. Friends may register at the funeral home Tuesday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The daughter of Ben and Mary Gladys Elrod Culp, she was born August 11, 1915, in rural Neodesha, Kansas. She attended school in Neodesha. She was united in marriage to Donald Alfred Pace in 1933. They later
orced. She married Wesley M. Streets on September 8, 1967. He preceded her in death in February of 1985. Mrs. Streets was a waitress at the Green Lantern in the 1940s and 1950s and was named Waitress of the Year in 1948. She also worked at Airosol and Prestige Cabinets, retiring from Prestige in the early 1970s. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church, a third generation member of the Sycamore Valley Ladies Aid Society, the Neodesha VFW Auxiliary and the Wilson County Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed piecing quilt tops for her family and friends. Survivors include one son D.A. and Dorothea Pace of Neodesha; two daughters Donna Jean Pace Bressie of Neodesha, KS, and Paula Sue and Kenneth Unrein of Rowland Heights, CA; one sister, Dorothy Adams of Neodesha; one brother, J. Paul Culp of Littleton, CO; five grandchildren, Dean Pace of Neodesha, Susan and Carey Roland of Moscow, KS, Jaime and Kay Pace of Moorpark, CA, Kenneth Ray Unrein of Stockton, CA, and La Dona and Charles Munoz of Stockton, CA; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three step-children; 13 step-grandchildren; three nephews, Donald E. and DAnn Adams of Neodesha; Gary Culp of Dacona, CO; and Tom Culp of Lahaina, Hawaii; one niece, Patsy Jill Adams and Clyde Ramey of Portland, TN; four great-nieces; two great-nephews; one great-great niece, and one great-great nephew. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Mary Gladys, and two step-grandsons. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sycamore Ladies Aid Society Scholarship Fund and may be left at the funeral home.
