Terry Wilkes

Terry G. Wilkes Terry Gene Wilkes of Neodesha, Kansas, died Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita. He was 62. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at Neodesha Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. The family will receive friends Tuesday July 25, from 6-8 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. The son of Blake Roston and Mary Helen McClintick Wilkes, he was born March 5, 1944, in Neodesha, Kansas. He attended school in Neodesha, graduating from Neodesha High School in 1962. He later attended Independence Community College, earning an associate in arts degree in 1964. On October 29, 1966, he was united in marriage to Sue Reed in Neodesha. She survives at the home. Terry was formerly employed at IMCO, later the Southeast Manufacturing Company, Sands Level and Tool, and had most recently been employed by the Neodesha school district before retiring in November, 2005. He also had served as a member of the Neodesha Police Reserves from 1977-80. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Dan and his wife April of Pittsburg, KS, and Travis and his wife Wyspher of Neodesha; one brother, Don of Derby, KS; and one grandchild, Lane Wilkes of Neodesha. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bob.
