Samuel Phillips

Samuel D. Phillips Samuel David Phillips of Neodesha, KS, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at his home. He was 73. Cremation has taken place under the direction of PenwellGabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. Private services will be held at a later date in Fredonia Cemetery. The son of Roy and Emma Marie Haskell Phillips, he was born May 24, 1938, in West Fork, Arkansas, where he received his education. On May 18, 1961, he was united in marriage to Shirley Lasiter in Miami, OK. She survives at the home. He formerly was employed as a welder at Churchill Manufacturing in Chanute. Mr. and Mrs. Phillips resided in the Lafontaine, KS, and area for 30 years before moving to Neodesha. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Geneva Kilgore of Saint Robert, MO one son, David Phillips and his wife Deborah of Lafontaine, KS four grandchildren, Daniel Kilgore and his wife Jenna, Uriah Kilgore, Sara Kilgore and Crystal Gile four greatgrandchildren, Claire Kilgore, Kirsten Kilgore, Deven Marten and Kalli Williams Gile. He is preceded in death by his parents one son, Floyd Allen and five brothers, Raymond, Walter, Oliver, James, and Earl. Memorial contributions may be made to the Neodesha Service Center and may be left at the funeral home.
