Ruth Tallman

Ruth L. Tallman Ruth Lenore Tallman of Neodesha, KS, died Friday, January 2, 2009, at the Golden Keys Nursing Home. She was 88. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at the First Southern Baptist Church in Neodesha. Pastor Dallas Martin will officiate. Interment will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Mound Valley, KS. Friends may call on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. The daughter of Arnold and Hazel Gilliland Morelan, she was born August 15, 1920, in Chanute, KS. She graduated from Humboldt High School in 1939. On September 3, 1939, she was united in marriage to Donald A. Tallman in Humboldt. He preceded her in death in 1998. Mrs. Tallman was a homemaker for much of her life but was also a foster parent for 10 years and taught at the Tri-State Faith Center in Parsons for several years as well. Survivors include one son, Donald Tallman of Parsons, KS; four daughters, Marquetta Gowing of Joplin, MO, Glenda Huff of Neodesha, Vickey Brandal of Joplin, MO, and Edwinna Brantley of Gilbert, AZ; two brothers, John C. Morelan of Eagle, MI, and Kieth Morelan of Springtown, AR; one sister, Maxine Staley of Hiawatha, KS; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by one brother, Arnold; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the W.A.
