Ruth E. Johnson, 87 of Neodesha died Friday, December 07, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Neodesha.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 13th at 2:00 p.m. at the Loran Fawcett Chapel. Interment will be at the Neodesha Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 12th from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Memorials have been suggested to the Golden Living Center Neodesha.
Ruth Elizabeth Johnson was born October 24, 1925 to Carl Jones and Elizabeth Meyers Jones.
She was raised in the Kingman areas where she attended school.
On January 18, 1944 she was united in marriage to Leonard E. Johnson, he preceded her in death on August 25, 2006.
The Johnsons briefly owned a photo studio in Howard, KS before moving to Neodesha where they established Johnsons Studio and Camera Shop. They operated that business until retiring in the late 1990s. Ruth also helped her son in the Western Auto Store in Neodesha. She was active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts while her sons and grandsons grew up. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Neodesha United Methodist Womens Organization and was a life member of VFW Auxiliary 5962 Neodesha and later in 3018 Fredonia.
Survivors include two sons Ronald L. Johnson and wife Susan and Ralph E. Johnson wife Teresa both of Neodesha one sister Mary Kostner of Kingman, KS two grandsons Drew E. Johnson and Devin J. Johnson both of Neodesha two granddaughters Jimmie S. Ballard Bronson, MO and Veronica L. Perry Neodesha greatgrandchildren Gracie, Aiden and Abby Johnson and Travis and Levi Ballard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and two sisters.
