ROSE MARIE WHISLER Rose Marie Whisler, 76, of Neodesha, Kansas passed away Friday evening, November 01, 2002 at the Beverly Health Care and Rehab. Rose was born March 25, 1926 in Wilson County west of Neodesha, Kansas to John and Clara Gudde Jansen. She was reared and educated in Altoona where she graduated from Altoona High School. On June 25, 1945, Rose married Thomas Whisler at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Neodesha. Mr. Whisler preceded her in death on May 9, 2002. Rose was a homemaker and also worked at Parsons Ammunition Plant for over 20 years. She was a member of the St. Ignatius Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Mrs. Whisler is survived by one daughter, Jeanette McCollum of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; four sisters, Ann Thurman, Clara Young, Margaret Cox, and Mary Conway; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Danny, and two daughters, Christina Woods and Linda Whisler. Her Rosary will be recited at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Neodesha, Kansas, Monday, November 4, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass for Rose Marie Whisler will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 05, 2002 at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Neodesha, Kansas. Father Steven Baxter will officiate. Burial will be at the Catholic Cemetery, Neodesha, Kansas. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Foundation.
