Rose Gavin

Rose Mary Gavin age 70 of Neodesha, Kansas passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the Montgomery Place Nursing Home in Independence, Kansas.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on May 22, 2014 at the Lighthouse Community Church of God in Neodesha, Kansas, services are under the direction of Loran Fawcett Chapel. Burial will follow at the Oak Hill 13 Cemetery in Chautauqua, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 from 9am to 8pm with the family receiving friends from 6pm to 8pm at the Loran Fawcett Chapel.

Rose Mary was born on September 4, 1943 in Harrisonville, Missouri to Allen and Rosie Ethington Land. She grew up and attended schools in the Greenwood, Missouri.

She married Mike Gavin on March 11th, 1970 in Grandview, Missouri. The couple lived and raised their family in Lee Summit, Missouri before moving to Sedan, Kansas and then Neodesha eight years ago.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her mother, Rosie Land of Independence, Missouri sons, Joe Henson of Bucknel, Missouri and Kevin Henson of Peru, Kansas three daughters, Loretta James of Plesant Hill, Missouri, Donna Woods of Warsaw, Missouri, Michelle Gavin of Neodesha, Kansas one sister, Penny Copenhaver of Independence, Missouri twentytwo grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Troy Land.
