Ronald Ron Max Klingenberg, age 70, of Neodesha, Kansas died Wednesday evening, February 27, 2002 at the Wilson County Hospital in Neodesha, Kansas. Ronald was born April 19, 1931 in Yates Center, Kansas to Max and Violet Klingenberg. His childhood and early elementary years were spent in various Kansas and Colorado cities. The Klingenbergamp;s eventually settled in Neodesha, Kansas where Ron graduated from the Neodesha High School in 1949. Ron joined the Natioal Guards in 1951 and was stationed at Ft. Lewis in Washington until 1953. While on leave and visiting his mother in Neodesha, he met and fell in love with Donna Kay Kiddoo. He was re-stationed to an area armory and served at many others as Commanding Officer until his retirement in 1974. Ronald and Kay were married in Ft. Scott, Kansas on June 7, 1953. They settled in Neodesha, where Ron was employed by the Standard Oil Company. He finished his Associates degree at Independence Community Junior College in 1955. Ron and Kay were blessed with four daughters, Rhonda, Kim, Tammy and Kelli. His family re-located to Fredonia in the late fifties, where he served first as Deputy Sheriff and eventually Sheriff of Wilson County. They returned to Neodesha in 1963, as Ron continued his career in law enforcement as a Special Agent with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation until he retired in 1987. Ron Klingenberg thoroughly enjoyed his retirement. Atlast, he was able to devote more time to his many passions family, fishing, friends, computer correspondence and serving his God. Ron passed on February 27, 2002, surrounded by the loving support of his family, good friends and fellow christians. His wit, humor and inexhaustable enthusiasm and concern for others will be missed. But as Ron often expressed, his faith in Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior insures that we will one day be together again beyond heavenamp;s gates. Ron was preceded in death by his father, and one grandson, Jeffrey Max Agosto. He is survived by his loving wife Kay and daughters, Rhonda Agosto of Owasso, Oklahoma, Kim McKee of Owasso, Oklahoma, Tammy Parish of Nixa, Missouri and Kelli Arnold of Neodesha, Kansas. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Haley Schofield, Dan Agosto, Melissa Agosto, Miranda McKee, Kayla Arnold, Alex McKee, Lucas Arnold and Amelia Parish, one great grandchild Logan Schofield and another great grandchild enroute. his mother and step-father Vi and Garland Tinknell of Neodesha and three brothers, Richard, Jon and Gary Klingenberg, one sister Sharon Davis and a devoted Schnauzer named Levi. Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2002 at the First Baptist Church in Neodesha, Kansas with the Rev. Jim York officiating. Burial will follow in the Neodesha Cemetery under the direction of the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home. The casket will be closed at the Church. Visitation hours will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2002 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home. The casket will be open at the Funeral Home. The family has suggested memorials to the First Baptist Church and contributions may be left at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home.
