Robert Powell

Robert Bob Powell, 95 formally of Neodesha, Kansas passed away Wednesday, May 8th at his home in Livingston, Texas.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 1:00 pm at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Neodesha, Kansas with Father Stephen Mahn Thapwa officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 12, 2013 from 5 to 7 pm at the Loran Fawcett Chapel.

The family has requested memorials to the Alzheimers Association and may be left with the funeral home.

Robert Bob Donald Powell was born January 18, 1918 in Neodesha, Kansas to Alfred and Evelyn Ainsworth Powell. He grew up in Neodesha and attended schools here. On March 30, 1941 he married Glenna Marie Thompson. Bob enlisted in the US Army on January 18, 1943 and was honorably discharged on October 13, 1945. After his service time Bob worked for Standard Oil which became American Oil BP in Neodesha, and was a heavy equipment operator later transferring to Dickinson, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Glenna Marie of the home, three daughters, Lynda Lou McCoslin, Hazelton, Idaho, Sheila Marie Anderes, Kansas City, Missouri and Marsha Shultz, Independence, Kansas grandchildren, Wade McCoslin, Lori Couch, Curtis Anderes, Travis Anderes, Terry Hon, Tami Raida great grandchildren, Amanda Hall, Kylan Hall, Trevor Anderes, Ella Anderes, Tyler Han, Levi Han, Tanner Raida, Jayce Raida, Zoie Raida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Fred Powell, sisterinlaw, Hattie Powell and nephew, Darrell Powell.
