Robert A. Dent Robert A. Bob Dent, 77, of Neodesha, died Thursday evening at Allen County Hospital in lola, Kansas Robert Allen Dent was born June 20, 1931 at Newton, Kansas, the son of Ula A. Dent and Elta W. Walker Dent. He attended school in Newton, Kansas. Mr. Dent had been a Neodesha resident since 1977, moving from Longton, Kansas. He joined the National Guard and in January of 1952 he joined the United States Marines. He was discharged from the Marine Corps as a Private First Class in 1953. He was self-employed as Heavy Equipment Operator. Mr. Dent loved working with his cattle and working in his shop. He was a member of Local 101 OperatingEngineering Union for 45 years. His survived by: his companion, Gwen White; a son, Robert I. Dent of Neodesha, Kansas; a daughter, Kathy and her husband Joe Clemens of Parsons; three grandchildren, Sydney Dent of Neodesha, Tammy Clemens and Travis Clemens, both of Parsons; a great granddaughter, Chloe Pontious of Parsons; two brothers, Lloyd and his wife June Dent of Ft. Scott, Kansas and Ken and his wife Karolyn Dent of Georgetown, California; and a sister, Nina Danner of Independence, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Roberta, J. Eppeland; four brothers; and five sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Bethel Church of God with Pastor Eldon Myers, officiating. Interment will be at the Neodesha Cemetery. Friends may call at the Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family suggests memorial remembrances to the Bethel Church of God and remembrances will be received at the funeral home.
