Richard Gardner Mayhood

Richard Gardner Mayhood, Neodesha, passed away at his home on May 29^th, 2023. Cremation will take place with Loran Fawcett Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service is planned for Monday, June 26^th, 2023, at the Christ Church in Neodesha, Kansas at 5:00pm. Memorial contributions are suggested to go the Christ Church.

Richard “Bronco” Mayhood was born on August 20^th, 1959, in Oklahoma City. He was the son of Charles and Shirley (Herron) Mayhood. He was raised in Neodesha and graduated in the class of 1977. After school he began his truck driving career with his family business, Little Bear Transportation.

He was the life of the party, expressing his kindhearted and generous self to everyone around him. Richard loved spending time with his grandchildren and gave his heart to the Lord. He will be remembered by many as being the toughest enthusiastic football player in high school.

Those who passed before him were his parents: Charles and Shirley, son Josh Mayhood, brother Randy Mayhood and sister Jessica Mayhood.

Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his children: Alisa Mayhood Beecham, Thomas (Stefecia) Mayhood, and Jordan (Bryan Abbe) Mayhood; 15 grandchildren, and brothers: Gary and Steve Mayhood.
