Richard Dick Allyn Brady, age 80, of Bolivar, Missouri formerly of Neodesha, Kansas passed away Monday, August 12, 2002, at his home. Richard was born June 20, 1922 in Roundup, Montana to Allen and Louise Spicer Brady. Richard and his family moved to Neodesha, Kansas where he attended and graduated Neodesha High School, and later attended Independence Community College. After college, Richard served with the United States Marine Corps in WWII, and then the Army National Guard in Neodesha, Kansas. In 1982, Mr. Brady retired as a welder from the Amoco Oil Refinery, Sugar Creek, Missouri. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W., Wheatland, Missouri. Richard married Evelyn Lamb on January 28, 1947. Evelyn preceded him in death on December 15, 1990. On November 5, 1993, in Miami, Oklahoma, Richard married Shirley Dixon. Mr. Brady enjoyed fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and was an avid reader of Louis Lamp;amour books. Richard Brady was also preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Art Brady. Mr. Brady is survived by his wife, Evelyn of the home; Three children, Linda Gentry of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Michael Brady of Cleveland, Tennesee, and Pat Johnson of Sugar Creek, Missouri; Two stepsons, Mike and David Dixon, both of Bolivar, Missouri; Eleven grandchildren; And nine great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to sign Mr. Bradyamp;s register book 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2002 and Thursday, August 15, 2002 and 8:00 a.m. to noon, Friday, August 15, 2002 at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home, 704 Indiana, Neodesha, Kansas. Graveside funeral services for Richard Brady will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 16, 2002 at the Neodesha City Cemetery, Neodesha, Kansas. Reverend Mike Graham, pastor, of Coffeyville, Kansas will officate the services. The family has suggested memorials to the Citizens Memorial Hospital Hospice, 1500 North Oakland, Bolivar, Missouri 65613-9988. Memorials may also be left with the personnel at Loran Fawcett Funeral Home.
