Rex Stewart

Rex E. Stewart, 71, of Neodesha passed away November 3, 2014 at Via Christy Hospice Care in Wichita.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Community Lighthouse Church of God in Neodesha. Memorials may be made to the church and left at Loran Fawcett Chapel.
Rex was born October 26, 1943 in Kirksville, Missouri to Elsie G. Poe. He grew up in that area. Rex married Linda Lammy on August 12, 1966 in Wellington, Kansas and she survives at the home. The family moved to Neodesha from Mexico, Missouri 29 years ago.
He worked as an electrical lineman and was a member of IBEW 226 Union in Topeka. He also worked for Prestege Cabinets in Neodesha for 10 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Rick Stewart of Chanute, KS, a daughter, Sherry and husband Robert of Fredonia, KS, one brother, Emmett Van Veer of Ottumwa, IA., and two sisters, Rose Mary Daniels of Canton, MO and Kay Flauitt of Iowa City, IA, and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother.
