RACHEL E. VICKERS Rachel E. Vickers, 103, of Neodesha, Kansas passed away Thursday, October 25, 2007 at the Golden Keys, Neodesha, Kansas. Rachel was born January 02, 1904 in Emporia, Kansas to Gideon and Lydia Isenhouer Barthel. She was raised in Emporia, Kansas. Graduating from Emporia High School. Later from the Emporia State Teachers College. She married Russell G. Vickers on August 26, 1930 in Emporia, Kansas. They came to Neodesha in 1933 coming form Bennington, Kansas. Mr. Vickers preceded her in death on March 19, 1966. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Chapter T.P. E. O., Neodesha Arts Association and the 20th Century Club. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother. Visitation hours for Rachel will be on Sunday, October 28, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services for Rachel E. Vickers will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 29, 2007 at the Penwell-Gabell Loran Fawcett Chapel of Neodesha with Pastor Kris Brinlee of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Neodesha City Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church of Neodesha, Kansas. Memorials may be left with the funeral home.
