Mrs. Peggy I. Clegg, 88, of Neodesha, died Monday evening at her home. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church. Friends may call to register at the church. Cremation is under the direction of the PenwellGabel Loran Fawcett Chapel of Neodesha. The family has suggested memorial remembrances to the United Methodist Church or the Rankin Memorial Public Library. Remembrances will be received at the funeral home. Peggy Isabel Clegg was born November 14, 1923 in Grundy County, Missouri, the daughter of William Dennis Runk and Bertha Patton Runk. She attended and graduated from Trenton High School in Trenton, Missouri in 1941. She also attended Independence Community College. Mrs. Clegg worked as a Secretary with Unified School District 461 in Neodesha. She was a member of the United Methodist Church where she served as Recording and Membership Secretary, Finance Assistant and Missions program Committee. She was also a member of Beta Theta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and BPW. On September 29, 1951 at Neodesha, Kansas, she was united in marriage to Donald Milton Clegg. Mr. Clegg preceded his wife in death on October 2, 2008. Survivors include: two daughters, Patricia Louise Dunn of Leavenworth, Kansas and May Lucille McCune of Parsons, Kansas two sons Donald Milton Clegg of Ozark, Missouri and John Runk Clegg of Lenexa, Kansas Grandchildren, Nathan A. McCune, Tim R. McCune, Amanda N. McCune, Tara D. Clegg, Tracy S. Clegg, Jessie D. Clegg, Chris Dunn and Debbie Right. She was preceded in death by: her parents a brother, Jack Runk and two sisters Mary Ruth Veach and Joy Marie Ruck.
