OTTO M. AUGUSTIN Otto M. Augustin, age 88, of Neodesha, Kansas died Sunday, May 5, 2002 at the Golden Keys Nursing Home. Otto was born August 17, 1913 in Neodesha, Kansas to Michael Augustin and Anna Schumat Augustin. He grew up in the Neodesha area all of his life. He graduated from the Neodesha High School. He served in the Army during WWII at Normandy, Northern France and received the Purple Heart. He lived at the Alta Rooming House in Neodesha for may years, and has been at the Golden Keys Nursing Home for the past 2 years. Otto worked for Standard Oil in Neodesha and was a electrician in the Neodesha. He was a member of the VFW Post 5962 and has served as Quarter Master. During the early 60amp;s he chaperoned the teen dances that the VFW held upstairamp;s over Bodleyamp;s Hardware store. He liked to tell stories about when he was in the service. He is survived by a brother Oswald of Mountain View, California, and nephewamp;s and Nieceamp;s. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Frank and Jack and Joseph and a sister Barbara.
