Oliver C. Thompson Oliver C. Ollie Thompson of Neodesha, Kansas, died Saturday, March 11, 2006, at the Wilson County Hospital. He was 69. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at the First Christian Church in Neodesha under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Funeral Home. The Reverends Robert Agee and Dave Cheshier will officiate. Interment will be in Neodesha Cemetery. Friends may call to register on Tuesday from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. The son of Oliver and Neva Fullington Thompson, he was born November 7, 1936, in Cherokee, OK. He moved with his family to Neodesha in 1946. He graduated from Neodesha High School in 1954. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Liz Kounter on April 15, 1955, in Neodesha. She survives at the home. Mr. Thompson was employed for five years each by the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company and Page Milk Company in Coffeyville. He then worked for five years for Starcraft RV Company in Independence. He was employed by Cobalt Boats in Neodesha for 27 years before retiring in 2001. He was the manager of the customer service department at the time of his retirement. Ollie was a member and Past Master of Harmony Lodge 94 A.F. amp; A.M., the Mirza Temple of Pittsburg, KS; Chapter 22 Keystone, Council 15 of Independence and the Comandry 10 St. Bernard of the Kansas York Rite; a life member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Fort Scott; the Independence Shrine Club; the Mirza Uniformed MG Parade Unit; a 23-year member of the Neodesha Rotary Club; the Neodesha Alumni Association; and a past member of the Neodesha Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Stanley Thompson of Lawrence, KS, Kenley Thompson of Neodesha, Scott Thompson of Columbus, KS, and Toby Thompson of Topeka, KS; one sister, Sylvia Page of Greeley, CO; and nine grandchildren, Betha, Jason, Danielle, Zachary, Marissa, Audrey, Kyle, Haley and Spencer; and one great-grandson, Eric. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Yvonne Killion. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mirza Shrine Transportation Fund.
