Max L. Pittman, 72, Grove, Oklahoma, formally of Neodesha, Kansas died April 21, 2012 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the First Christian Church of Neodesha, Memorial Services will follow at 2:00 p.m., at the church. The family of Max L. Pittman suggests memorial contributions to Wilson Medical Center Foundation or the Neodesha High School Student Assistance Fund in care of PenwellGabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. Max was born on February 28, 1940 to Carl and Doris Westrope Pittman in Las Animas, Colorado. Max graduated from Neodesha High school in 1958. He attended Independence Community College prior to enlisting in the U.S. Army, and was stationed in El Paso, Texas. Following his military tour of duty he graduated from Kansas State College of Pittsburg, Vocational Technical School majoring in electronics. Max married Deanna Cram on August 4, 1963, and they lived in Scott City, KS the first two years of their marriage, prior to his employment with KGE in Independence, and Wichita, KS. In 1968 Max and his family moved back to Neodesha where they joined their family business, BC Hatchery until 1972. He worked as an electrician at nuclear plants throughout the U.S. for many years under Fluor Daniel Incorporated. He retired from Wilson Medical Center in 2006. In November of 2011 Max and Deanna moved to Grove, OK to enjoy their retirement. He is survived by his wife of fortyeight years , one son, Craig and his wife Jana of Cheney, KS, two grandchildren, Morgan and Hunter Pittman, and one great granddaughter Aaliyah McGinnis, all of Pretty Prairie, KS. He is also survived by his father, Carl Pittman of Neodesha, KS. Max was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Pittman, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Westrope of Lafontaine, and Mr. and Mrs. John Pittman of Elk City.
