MaryAnn E. Hallbauer MaryAnn Elizabeth Hallbauer of Pleasanton, KS, formerly of Neodesha, died Friday, July 25, 2008, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott, KS. She was 79. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. The Reverend Dave Cheshier will officiate. Interment will be in Star Cemetery. Friends may call to register on Tuesday from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday. The daughter of Clarence G. and Alta Mae Benson Elliott, she was born September 16, 1928, in Neodesha, KS. She received her GED from Neodesha High School in 1946. On April 6, 1946, she was united in marriage to Donald Roy Hallbauer Sr. in Neodesha. The couple moved from Neodesha to Pleasanton in 1978. Mr. Hallbauer survives in the Prescott Countryview Home in Prescott, KS. Mrs. Hallbauer worked for Airosol Co. in Neodesha for 28 years. She then worked at ACC in Independence until she retired in 1978. Mrs. Hallbauer was a member of the Royal Neighbors and the First Christian Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Donald Roy Hallbauer Jr. of Birmingham, AL; three sisters, Beulah Mae Secrest of Hutchinson, KS, Betty June Raida and Helen Louise Clanton, both of Neodesha; three grandchildren, Bradley, Stephen and Matthew; and eleven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Carl, Louis, and Charles; and one granddaughter, Catherine. Memorial contributions may be made to W.A. Rankin Memorial Library in Neodesha. Memorials may be left at the funeral home.
