Maryann V. Dannels, 83, of Neodesha, formerly of Altoona died January 28, 2013 while being transported back from Wichita.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 31, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Grace Baptist Church in Neodesha with Pastor Jim Logan officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. before the funeral service. Memorials suggested to the Grace Baptist Church and the Vintage Park Assisted Living.
Maryann was born in Neodesha February 14, 1929 to John and Erma Hallbauer Schoonover. She attended school in Neodesha. Maryann married Howard Dannels, June 1, 1946 in Fredonia Kansas and they lived in Altoona and Neodesha. She worked for HD Lee Company in Cherryvale for 20 years and for Nu Way in Chanute Kansas for 12 years then retired in 1989.
She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and a Life Member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary 3018 in Fredonia.
She is survived by two sons, Ronald Dannels and wife Jan of Altoona, and Alan Dannels and wife Debbie of Hamilton Kansas, a daughter in law, Lois Dannels of Altoona, two sisters, Sheila Kaufman of Neodesha, and Theta DeVoe of Fredonia. Grandchildren include: Roger and Linda Dannels of Neodesha Laura and Allen Honeycutt of Neodesha Shelly and Randy Blevins of Fall River Carrie and Lee Porter of Altoona Tonya and Ronnie Cole of Fredonia Dayna and Darren Denney of Neodesha Damon and Jami Dannels of Altoona Brett and Mary Dannels of Hamilton Brandy and Mike Fruend of Hamilton Michelle Dannels, and 21 great grandchildren and 11 greatgreat grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son Richard Dannels, sisters, Betty Harshman, Arlene Busick, Lorene McKinze, Barbara Craig, brothers, Loren Schoonover, Melvin Schoonover, Carl Schoonover, Duane Schoonover, and great great granddaughter Shaylee Collins.
