MARTHA ELAINE GUTSCHENRITTER Martha Elaine Gutschenritter, age 87, of Neodesha, Kansas, died, October 16, 2002 at the Wilson County Hospital in Neodesha. Elaine was born on December 17, 1914 in Sedgwick, Kansas to Wallace and Margaret Fitzgerald Burge. Elaine grew up in the rural Valley Center, Kansas area and graduated from the Valley Center High School. In 1933 Elaine married Byron C. Craig and they were later
orced. On April 23, 1949 Elaine married Elmer J. Gutschenritter in Wichita, Kansas. They made their home in rural Andale, Kansas until moving to rural Neodesha in 1966. Elmer preceded her in death September 28, 1980. Elaine was a homemaker and worked on the farm. In later years she enjoyed working at Porteramp;s Drug Store in Neodesha, Kansas. She was a member of the St. Ignatius Catholic Church and the St. Ignatius Altars Society. Survivors include one son John and wife Susan Gutschenritter of Neodesha, Kansas; one daughter Janet and husband James Cordell of Wichita, Kansas; one step son Tony Gutschenritter of Lenexa, Kansas; three step daughters Mary Ann Watson of Augusta, Kansas, Jackie Carroll of Salamanca, New York, Jeanne Young of Ponca City, Oklahoma; a special friend Robert Smith of Neodesha, Kansas; 10 grandchildren, 11 step grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 12 step great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer, one son, 3 sisters, 1 brother and 1 step grandchild. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 21, 2002 at the St. Iganatius Catholic Church in Neodesha, Kansas with the Rev. Stephen Baxter officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, October 21, 2002 at the Resurrection Cemetery in Wichita, Kansas. Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 20, 2002 at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Visitation hours will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2002 and Saturday, October 19, 2002 at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 20, 2002. The family has suggested memorials to the Wilson County Hospital Foundation or the Senior Citizens Center and contributions may be left at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home.
