Madeline Sue Koehn, 74, of Neodesha, KS passed away Monday March 22, 2021 at Harry Hynes Hospice Center at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS. A memorial service will be Saturday May 8, 2021 at 2:00PM at Christ Church in Neodesha, KS.
Madeline Sue (Colter) Koehn was born December 18, 1946 in Coldwater, KS the daughter of Willard I. and Mildred (Houck) Colter. Madeline attended school in Coldwater and graduated from Coldwater High School in 1963. Madeline was united in marriage to Larry Lynn Koehn on March 7, 1964 in Coldwater, KS. They made their home in Haviland, Kansas before moving to Neodesha in 1971. Madeline owned Madeline's Country Kitchen's Cabinet Store for several years. She then worked at Wilson County Hospital as the receptionist until her retirement.
Madeline loved to play golf, spending time watching birds, she loved listening to music, and loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and her loving husband Larry.
Madeline is survived by her daughter Paula Lamendola of Neodesha; son Jared Koehn and wife Stacy of Neodesha; brother Kenny Colter and wife Verda of Coldwater, KS; sisters Joyce Heft of Liberal, KS, Lillian Thompson of Bucklin, KS, Mary Shafer of Cherokee, OK; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
Madeline is preceded in death by her parents Willard and Mildred Colter; and brothers Jake and Robert Colter. Memorials can be left in Madeline's name to Harry Hynes Hospice and Alzheimer's Association and can be left with Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, KS.
