LUCILLE A. WHITE Lucille A. White, 80, passed away Saturday morning, November 11, 2006 at the Golden Keys Home in Neodesha, Kansas. Lucille was born August 30, 1926 in Pryor, Oklahoma to Carl and Gladys Helms Swift. She was raised in Oklahoma until she was 14 and moved to Grenola, Kansas to help take care of her grandmother. On July 12, 1943, Lucille married Kent E. White in Grenola, Kansas. They moved to Oakland, California area for two years and returned to Grenola. In 1954 they moved to Winfield, Kansas where she held numerous jobs. In 1964 they moved to Livermore, California where she operated a nursing home for numerous years and moved to Tracy, California until Kents death in 1985. She moved to Topeka to be near her daughter and in May of 2006 came to Neodesha. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Topeka, Kansas. Lucille is survived by three children, Steve White and his wife, Joana of Thayer, Kansas, Roger White of Virginia, and Ladonna Lechner of Topeka, Kansas; one step son, Richard Braddy of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; four step grandchildren; and numerous step great grandchildren; three sisters, Mary, Ila, and Thelma and one brother, Clarence all of California. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one infant son, Stanley; three brothers, one sister; and one great granddaughter. Cremation will take place under the direction of the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Loran Fawcett Chapel of Neodesha. Memorial services for Lucille will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, November 18, 2006 at the Neodesha Church of Christ. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Memorials may be left with the funeral home.
