Louie A. Dickens, age 94, of Neodesha, Kansas died Monday, July 28, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Neodesha, Kansas.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, Kansas.
Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Manzanola Cemetery in Manzanola, Colorado under the direction of the Loran Fawcett Chapel.
Louie A. Dickens, was born April 9, 1920 in Independence, Kansas to Louie M. and Ada Flo Yates Dickens. He grew up in Independence, Kansas and attended schools in Independence.
On May 13, 1942 Louie entered the United States Army and served in the Pacific theater in World War II. He was honorable discharged on October 14, 1945. Louie married Nadine Phillips and the couple later divorced.
Louie worked for Perfect Circle Dana Corporation for 29 years until his retirement. Louie married Annie L. Boley in 1955 in Taos, New Mexico and she preceded him in death in 1999. He was a member of the Nazarene Church.
Survivors include two daughters Shirley Skerjanc of Aurora, Colorado, Rosetta Barbara Jancek of Fort Worth, Texas five sons Louie A. Dickens and wife Donna of Tucson, Arizona, Robert Dickens of Canon City, Colorado, John Dickens of Canon City, Colorado, Bill Dickens of Tucson, Arizona Brother Loren Dickens of Neodesha, Kansas sister Lois Sevenberger of Newton, Idaho numerous grand and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter Annie parents, two brothers Edgar and Clarence, and one sister Ruth.
