Loren Dickens Sr

Loren E Dickens Sr. 90 of Neodesha, KS. went to be with God on March 7, 2019 at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita, KS.
A memorial service will be Saturday March 30, 2019. At 1:00pm at the Bible Baptist Church in Neodesha, KS at 1100 N 4th Street. with Military Honors.
Loren was born November 12, 1928 just outside Independence, KS. to Louie and Ada (Yates) Dickens. Loren joined the Army and was Stationed in Germany at the conclusion of World War II and left the Army as a Corporal in 1952.
Loren married Joan L McRoberts on August 21, 1952 and later divorce in 1986. Loren moved his family to Colorado looking for work, but soon returned to Neodesha where he lived the rest of his life. Loren worked hard all his life. He worked for ADM, and farming & welding, Loren worked Janitorial Services at First Federal Bank, Cobalt, Imco, and had Dickens Lawn Care Business and was still doing lawn care albeit on a smaller scale at the age of 89.
Loren Loved the Lord, his family, the Kansas City Chiefs and working, he enjoyed gardening, Coffee and seeing his grand kids and his great grand kids, Loren was a longtime member of the Bible Baptist Church of Neodesha for 55 years and served as song leader for several years.
Loren is survived by to sons Robert Dickens and wife Melody and Loren Dickens Jr. and wife Cindy of Neodesha, KS. Two daughters Veronica Donald of Topeka, KS. and Tami Payden of Neodesha, KS. Two adopted twin sons Shane Dickens and wife Tracy of Prairie Village, KS. and Shawn Dickens of Overland Park, KS. and two foster sons Larry Glasgow & Pat Glasgow and stepdaughters Jerri Reddick & Susan Huguenin and 16 grand children and 17 great grandchildren.
Loren is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Edgar, Arthur, Clarence and sisters Ruth &Lois and his special friend Pat Koch.
Memorials can be left in Loren's memory to Bible Baptist Church of Neodesha and can be left with the Loran Fawcett Chapel of Neodesha, KS. On-line condolences can be left to the family by going to www.loranfawcettfuneralhome.com
