Lora Mae Howe Lora Mae Howe of Neodesha, KS, died Sunday, April 4, 2010, at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS. She was 82. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010, at the Church of the Nazarene under the direction of PenwellGabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. Reverend Carl Soliday and Reverend Damon Hayward will officiate. Interment will be in Neodesha Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 8 a.m.8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 68 p.m. at the funeral home. The daughter of William Luther and Lottie Edith Foltz Barks, she was born February 23, 1928, in Neodesha, KS. She graduated from Neodesha High School in 1946. She lived most of her life in Neodesha with the exception of a few years spent in Independence, KS. On December 31, 1955, she was united in marriage to William W. Howe. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1997. Lora Mae was a nurses aide for many years, serving at Wilson County Hospital in Neodesha and Mercy Hospital in Independence, KS. Survivors include one sister, Lois Brinkley of Neodesha, KS four nieces three nephews, several greatnieces and greatnephews and a host of friends. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents and one infant daughter, Willa Mae and three brothers, Lowell Barks, and Joe and Melvin Kearnes. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Nazarene or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and may be left at the funeral home.
