Laura M. Counsil 60, of Neodesha, died Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita, Kansas. Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Grace Baptist Church under the direction of PenwellGabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. Pastor Jim Logan and Reverend Jerry Piatt of Grace Baptist Church, Neodesha will officiate. Cremation has take place. Inurnment will take place at a later date. The daughter of James E. LaBarr and Flossie Blevins LaBarr, she was born April 05, 1950 in Neodesha, Kansas. She attended school in Neodesha she was a homemaker and a babysitter and had worked at Jiffy Mart in Neodesha. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church. Laura married Bill Nolen, July 25, 1966 in Neodesha and they later divorced. She married Bobby Counsil on April 21, 1996 and he survives at the home. Survivors include in addition her husband, a son Bill Nolen of Topeka, KS, a daughter Tara Nolen of Garden Plains, KS, three stepsons Bobby Counsil of Little Elm, TX, Brian Counsil of Wellsville, KS, C.Doug Counsil of Kansas City, MO, threestepdaughters Tammy Kramer of Grand Prairie, TX, Kimberly Palmer of Pensacola, FL and Nancy Counsil of Florida, one brother David LaBarr of Neodesha, KS, four sisters Delores Barnhart of Independence, KS, Betty Lacis of Neodesha, KS, Ruby Fireston of Oklahoma City, OK, and Charlotte McColm of Winfield, KS, one grandson and fifteen stepgrandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mary Hase, and stepsons Stephen Counsil and Roger Counsil. The family has suggested memorials to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospital of Wichita and can be left at the funeral home.
