Laura Rexene Ball Laura Rexene Showers Ball, former resident of Neodesha, died Monday, August 20, 2007, in Sevierville, TN. She was 88. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2007, at the Neodesha Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. The Rev. Kris Brinlee will officiate. The daughter of Rex and Lula Pearl Van Dyke Showers, she was born July 31, 1919, in Syracuse, KS. On December 2, 1939, she was united in marriage to Jack Edward Ball in Independence, KS. He preceded her in death Sept. 29, 2002. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Seymour, TN. Survivors include two sisters, Sibyl Patricia Fields of McPherson, KS and Gwendlyn Marie Scott of Fredonia, KS; two grandchildren, David Ellison Ball of Sevierville, TN, and Susan Lynn Savage of Jacksonville, FL; and four great-grandchildren.
