Keli Dawn Tomlinson, age 33 passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Independence, Kansas.
A funeral service celebrating Kelis life will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Christ Church in Neodesha, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at the Loran Fawcett Chapel from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm with the family receiving friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Burial will be at the Neodesha City Cemetery under the direction of Loran Fawcett Chapel.
The family has suggested memorial contributions be made to a trust fund that has been established for her two girls. The trust fund has been established at the 1st National Bank of Independence. Memorials can be left in care of Loran Fawcett Chapel or taken directly to the 1st National Bank of Independence.
Keli was born on July 26, 1979 to Terry Brashar and Suzanne Kouplen Brashar in Claremore, Oklahoma. Keli was raised in Independence, Kansas, graduating from Independence High School in 1997 and a graduate from ICC with an associates degree in business.
Keli married Sam Tomlinson Jr., on April 19, 2001 in Independence, Kansas. The couple made their home in Neodesha, Kansas where Sam survives the home with their two daughters, Madison and Emily Tomlinson. Keli was employed by Eggberts in Independence, Kansas.
Keli was an active member of the community sharing her caring spirit with all that she came in contact with. She was the PTO President, active in the Relay for Life, homeroom Mom, Girl Scout Leader, active with United Methodist Church Youth and Vacation Bible School, and Shoes for Kids. She was also a second mom to numerous Neodesha kidos. She will be deeply missed by all, may the legacy she has left behind be carried out by the lives she touched.
She is survived by her loving husband, Sam two daughters Madison and Emily, her mother and dad Suzanne and Robert Allen of Independence, Kansas her father Terry Brashar of Mt. Vernon, Missouri brothers, Curtis Brashar of Independence, Kansas, Kyle Brashar of Joplin, Missouri, Blake Dunlap of Independence, Kansas, Kameron Mydland of Independence, Kansas sister, Ashley Mydland of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma grandparents Clyde and Karen Brashar of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, Roger Allen of Independence, Kansas and Linda Silvey of Chanute, Kansas and Grandma Lizzie.
Keli was preceded in death by grandmothers, Violet Prichard and Lillie Doolittle, her great grandmother, Gertrude Kelley uncle, Trouper Jerry Lawhorn.
