Lifelong Neodesha resident, Keith Fields, 71, passed away at Medicalodges of Fort Scott Sunday, December 30, 2018. Funeral services will be held at the Lighthouse Community Church of God in Neodesha, Kansas on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Interment will immediately follow at Neodesha City Cemetery.
Keith Fields was born on March 25, 1947 in Neodesha, Kansas to Hiram and Ruth (Hare) Fields. Keith graduated from Neodesha High School in 1965. Shortly after graduation, Keith enlisted in the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force, Keith did 2 tours in Vietnam. Once Keith fulfilled his duty to the United States Air Force, he joined the National Guard and finished his 20-year career with the Army Reserves. On May 26, 1973, Keith married Pam Singhurst at the First Church of God in Neodesha. Through the years Keith and Pam welcomed 2 sons, Shane and Justin. Keith worked for the City of Neodesha operating the powerplant for 20 years. He then retired from the Refinery in Coffeyville in 2009. Keith was a member of the Neodesha Volunteer Fire Department. Keith enjoyed collecting coins, fishing and most of all, he enjoyed attending all his grandchildren's high school football games. He made it a priority to attend every game, whether he was feeling well or not, he was there to cheer them on.
Keith is preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to carry on Keith's memory; wife, Pam of the home, sons, Shane and wife Mary Fields of Osawatomie, Kansas, Justin and wife Sara Fields of Paola, Kansas, brother, Ronnie and wife June Fields of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and seven grandchildren. The family has requested that memorials be made in Keith's name to the Lighthouse Community Church of God. Memorials may be left with Loran Fawcett Chapel.
