Julie Ann (Richards) Reynolds age 65 of Parsons, KS [formerly of Neodesha, KS] passed away Saturday July 23rd, 2022 at Labette Health. She was a resident of Parsons Presbyterian Manor for the last 6 years due to incapacitating disabilities following brain surgery. After an uphill battle with lung complications the last year, she passed peacefully surrounded by family.
Julie was the first born of 4 children on June 1st, 1957 in San Antonio, TX to proud parents Kenneth & Leola Richards. They relocated to Altoona, then to Neodesha, KS in 1963 where she resided, with 3 younger siblings Diann, Daniel, and Naomi Richards. Julie graduated from Neodesha High School where she was passionate about band and music and led as a drum majorette her senior year. Shortly thereafter, Julie and Stan Reynolds committed to share their lives together in Neodesha, followed by having two children, Natalia and Lucas Reynolds whom they lived for. Julie was a valued and respected employee of Cobalt Boats for over 35 years, as well as a dedicated member of Christ Church.
Anyone who knew Julie would agree she was extremely kind, generous, loving, hardworking, and always willing to drop what she was doing for others. She was a devoted mother to Natalia and Lucas, who never stopped shuttling them to activities, contributing delicious goodies for baked sales, and was prominent as a scout leader for both no matter how much she had going on. On top of it all, she was ahead of the times on nutrition and organic eating, after discovering her food allergies. This motivated her to launch a small organic farm big enough to sustain the family and then some. Tending to and caring for a huge garden, goats, chickens, cows, dogs, and cats (among other things) is no small feat but that is the hardworking dedicated person she was.
Julie is survived by her family: Kenneth Richards – Stan Reynolds – Natalia, Jamie & Mila Shorten – Lucas Reynolds – Diann & Dennis Anderson (Cody Anderson, Shelby Sabin) – Dan Richards – Naomi Phillips (Katie, Josh, Justin Phillips). Julie was preceded in death by Leola Richards and Mark Phillips.
