Joyce Dalene Norris, 77, of Neodesha Kansas passed away Wednesday April 5, 2017 at Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha, Kansas. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the Bible Baptist Church of Neodesha. Pastor Harold Stacy will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Neodesha Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, April 10, 2017 at the Bible Baptist Church of Neodesha. The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The book signing will be Monday, April 10 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, Kansas.
Joyce Dalene Norris was born July 15, 1939 in Neodesha, Kansas to Dale and Dorothy (Fulbright) Chisham. She was Valedictorian of Class of 1957 in LaFontaine, Kansas. Her class was the last class to graduate from the LaFontaine school. On March 27, 1960, Joyce was united in marriage to Delbert Norris in Neodesha, Kansas. The couple has made Neodesha their home the last 57 years.
Joyce worked for the USD 461 school district of Neodesha, Kansas for 30 years as a driver and supervisor of the school buses before retiring in 2008. Joyce had many talents including painting, woodworking, writing, singing, and capturing beautiful photos of nature. Her grandchildren fondly remember the hikes after Thanksgiving dinner, the pancakes she made from scratch in any shape they desired, the personalized birthday cards she made on the computer, and the stories she would weave about Molly McMoo.
Joyce is survived by her loving husband, Delbert, of the home and three daughters; Laurie Osborne and husband, Dan Hefley, of Las Vegas, NV, Terresa Roberts of Ottawa, KS, and Lisa Norris of Neodesha, KS; one brother, Bill (William) Chisham of Saratoga Springs, NY; four sisters, Marie Gorton of Shawnee, KS, Lucille Campbell of Winfield, KS, Becky Leonard of Omaha, AR, and Deah Blevins of Neodesha, KS; and seven grandchildren, Katie Osborne, Joshua Osborne, Stephanie Roberts, Erica Roberts, Andrew Roberts, Hannah Roberts, and Samuel Roberts.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Jason Norris and Ronnie Norris.
