Joyce Elaine McDonald, age 50 of Neodesha, Kansas died Monday, April 22, 2003 at the Wilson County Hospital in Neodesha, Kansas. Joyce was born August 30, 1952 in Colony, Kansas to Jean R. and Ruth Gregeory Hedges. She was raised in Elk City, Kansas where she attended school and graduated from Elk City High School in 1970. Joyce married Roger McDonald on May 23, 1970 in Neodesha, Kansas. She worked for 22 years for Emerson Electric in Independence as a production worker until the plant closed. She currently worked for Cobalt Boats as a sewer. Joyce is survived by her husband, Roger of Neodesha, Kansas; two children, Jeff McDonald of Girard, Kansas and Cheri Quanstrom of Americus, Kansas; three grandchildren, Noah Quanstrom, Ashley McDonald and Marcy McDonald; one brother, John Hedges of Elk City, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation hours for Joyce will be held Thursday, April 24, 2003 from 8:00 am. to 8:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home. Funeral services for Joyce E. McDonald will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2003 at the First Baptist Church, 421 N. 9th, Neodesha, Kansas with Pastor Jim York officiating. Burial will follow at the Neodesha City Cemetery. The family has suggested a memorial contribution to the Shrineramp;s Children Hospital, 2001 S. Lindburgh Blvd., St. Louis, Missouri 63131.
