John Griffith, Jr.

JOHN W. GRIFFITH JR. John was blessed with a long productive life filled with family, friends and a town he loved. John was born August 25, 1905 in Neodesha, Kansas to John Sr. and Katherin McCarter Griffith. He grew up in Neodesha and graduated from the Neodesha High School. He also attended Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri. John married Anne Griffith and she preceded him in death in 1966. He later married Elizabeth Jones and she preceded him in death in 1995. John Worked for Sinclair Oil in Houston, Texas and worked as the City Engineer in Neodesha, Kansas. He was a member of the Frirst United Presbyterian Church in Neodesha. Survivors include one son Bill Griffith of Neodesha, Kansas two daughters, Mary Ann Wilson of Houston, Texas and Sarah Ellen Wallace of Kansas City, Kansas, grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother Lewis K. Griffith of Neodesha, Kansas and one sister Mary Olson of Columbus, Ohio. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2002 at the Neodesha Cemetery under the direction of the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home. Visitation hours will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2002 and from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2002 with the family receiving friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home. The family has suggested memorials to the Friends of the Brown Hotel, the W.A. Rankin Memorial Library or the First United Presbyterian Church and contributions may be left at the Funeral Home.
