John Claude Chambers, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Neodesha. Graveside services will be held Monday, February 4, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Neodesha Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the W.A. Rankin Library in care of Loran Fawcett Chapel.
Claude was born March 15, 1926 in Bourbon County, Kansas, the son of John D. and Lois Eha Walker Chambers. He married Thelma Arlene Smith on December 24, 1949 in Moran, KS, she preceded him in death on November 11, 2007.
Claude worked at the Monarch Cement Plant in Humboldt, KS for 11 years they moved to Neodesha in 1968 where he and Thelma operated a jewelry store for 22 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Lions Club and Masonic Lodge of Hepler, KS.
He is survived by daughter Chery Bly of Neodesha, son Kent Chambers of Springfield, MO, three grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and soninlaw Mark Bly.
Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha is in charge of arrangements.
