Joan Counsil

Joan Pearl Counsil, 68, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 5, 2018 at Parsons Presbyterian Manor in Parsons, Kansas. A celebration of Joan's life will be held, Friday, February 9, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Lighthouse Community Church of God in Neodesha, Kansas with visitation also at the Lighthouse Community Church of God at 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

Joan Pearl Counsil was born on March 19, 1949 to John James Henry and Myrtle May (Spicer) Norris Jacobs in Neodesha, Kansas. Joan attended school in Neodesha. Joan married Bobby Counsil on September 27, 1964 and they later divorced. The two welcomed and raised eight children. Joan worked as an insurance agent for American General and later retired. Joan will be remembered for her love of the Bible, her church, and her ability to not know a stranger. She loved her time communicating with friends and loved ones on Facebook. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish Joan's memory include, daughters, Tammie and husband Kevin Kramer of Grand Prairie, TX, Kimberly and husband Terry Palmer of Pensacola, FL, Nancy and husband Chip Henry, of Blountsville, AL, sons, Bobby and wife Tricia Counsil of Cottage Grove, MN, Brian and wife Margaret Counsil of Neodesha, KS, Curtis Douglas Counsil of Neodesha, KS, grandchildren, Michael Kane Jr., Tiffany Kane, Bobby Kramer, Jake Kramer, Ryan Palmer, Jonathon Zahm, Christopher Counsil, Bryan Lowry Jr., Roger Counsil Jr., Brandi Counsil, Jessica Counsil, Emily Counsil, Drew Counsil, Jonathan Counsil, Jeremiah Counsil, and two great grandchildren, Claire and Clark Zahm, brother, Delbert Norris, sisters, Jenny Burns, and Mary Smith.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents, John and Myrtle, three sisters, Doris, Margie, and Jeanie and two sons, Roger and Steven.
