J.C. Bill Reece John Chester Bill Reece of Neodesha, Kansas, died Saturday, August 27, 2005, at his home. He was 89. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2005, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. The Reverend Stephen Baxter will officiate. Interment will be in Neodesha Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. The son of Leonard Franklin and Edna Lucinda Dickens Reece, he was born March 11, 1916, in rural Neodesha, Kansas. He was a life long farmer and resident of the Neodesha area and, in his younger years, attended Star School in rural Thayer, Kansas. On February 2, 1938, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Erbe in Hollywood, California. She preceded him in death on February 23, 1997. He married Irene Katzer Linvill on June 24, 2000, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fredonia, Kansas. She survives at the home. Mr. Reece was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Harmony Lodge 94 A.F. amp; A.M. and was a past master of that organization. He also was a member of the Mirza Shrine of Pittsburg, Kansas, the Scottish Rite Valley of Fort Scott, Kansas, and St. Ignatius Catholic Church. He formerly served on the Wilson County SCS Committee, the Farm Bureau Board of Directors and the FHA Committee. Bill love to play golf and was known for his beautiful flowers. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one sister, Lorene Adams of Cresswell, Oregon; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his first wife, he is preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Melvin, George, Lon, Jack and Harold; and two sisters, Ferne Willis and Helen.
