James R. Radcliffe James Jim Richard Radcliffe of Neodesha, KS, died Friday evening, October 6, 2006, at the Golden Keys Nursing Home. He was 84. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, at 2 p.m. at the Neodesha Cemetery. Pastor Clay Eury will officiate. Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel is in charge of arrangements. The son of Omer and Catherine Smith Radcliffe, he was born July 8, 1922, in Chicago, IL. He married Sarah L. Lee on June 7, 1956, in Covina, CA. They were later
orced and she preceded him in death November 6, 2003. He was a retired upholsterer. Prior to his retirement, he worked at Sports and Classic Restoration in Chicago. His emphasis was the restoration of antique car interiors. His passion in life was cooking. Mr. Radcliffe moved to Neodesha in 1992 after having lived in Chicago and Los Angeles, CA. He served with the US Marine Corps during WWII as a gunner for the Flying Goldbricks in the South Pacific, being honorably discharged as a staff sergeant. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 5962. Mr. Radcliffe is survived by a son, Mike Radcliffe of Neodesha, KS, and two daughters, Becky Hudson of Russellville, AR, and Sharon Dever of Los Angeles, CA; one sister, Dorothy Klavinski of McHenry, Illinois; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Marcia; and two sisters, Kay and Lorraine. Memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post 5962.
