Jack D. Greer, 97, of Chanute, Kansas passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Diversicare Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Loran Fawcett Chapel with burial to follow in Neodesha Cemetery. Friends may register from 1:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 and with family from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, Kansas. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kindred Hospice and may be left with the chapel.
Jack was born in Neodesha, Kansas on March 29, 1920 to Lyman and Grace (Mikesell) Greer. He lived most of his life in the Thayer-Chanute Kansas area. Jack married Imogene Stevenson of Moorhead, Kansas on March 22, 1950. They had five children.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Ann Greer; his parents; ten siblings; his son, Jack Steven Greer; and his daughter, Marion Sue (Susie) Greer.
Surviving him are daughters, Nancy Sanders, Kansas City, Missouri, Beverly Clark, Harker Heights, Texas; son, Lyle Greer, Chanute, Kansas; sister, Colleen Chambers, Harrison, Arkansas; 15 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
