Iva Ramey

Iva Dean Ramey, 90, of Independence, Kansas, formerly of Neodesha, Kansas passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Medicalodges Nursing Home in Independence.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Christ Church in Neodesha. Interment will follow at the Neodesha City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Loran Fawcett Chapel. The family will greet friends Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made payable to Class LTD these may be left with the funeral home. Iva was born on July 10, 1924 in Fredonia, Kansas to Lewis and Myra Wise Johnson. She graduated from Fredonia High School. Iva married Ralph Ramey on November 23, 1940 in Chanute, Kansas he preceded her in death on March 2, 2001.

She was a member of the Christ Church in Neodesha and a member of the VFW Post 1186 Auxiliary in Independence, Kansas.

She is survived by her two sons, Greg and wife Mae of Parsons, Kansas, Tom and wife, Edith of Independence, Kansas two daughters, Mary and husband, Edward Bowen of Independence, Kansas, Lois and husband, John Allen of Dearing, Kansas soninlaw William Edwards, fifteen grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren and thirteen great great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Edward Ramey two daughters, Shirley Edwards and Patricia Ramey a granddaughter three sisters and two brothers.
