IVA E. MCLAUGHLIN Iva Emma McLaughlin, 84, longtime resident of Neodesha, Kansas died Thursday, Febraury 20, 2003 at the Beverly Health Rehab in Neodesha, Kansas. Iva was born October 26, 1918 near Independence, Kansas to William D. and Christina Calonder Burck. In 1942, Iva married Francis Waller, a member of the U.S. Air Force. He preceded her in death. On February 5, 1953, she married James Mac McLaughlin, chief of the Neodesha Fire Dept. He preceded her in death in 1963. Iva was a member of the Christ Church of Neodesha, the 1918 Club, and was an active member in the Thanks Bus Program of Southeastern Kansas. Iva is survived by a half sister, Verna Morgan Heckman of Silver Lakes, California. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews, Vivian Whitney Kinsey of Cayce, South Carolina, Katherine Whitcomb Hooper of Powell, Wyoming, Dr. Carl Whitcomb of Stillwater, Oklahoma, John Burck of Sycamore, Kansas, the Rev. Jim Burck of Fulton, Maryland, Rose Burck Patterson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jamie Heckman of Lomita, California, John Heckman of Torrance, California, and Melissa Heckman of Fremont, California and several grand nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Marie Burck Whitcomb and two brothers, Erwin Burck and Rudolph Burck. Visitation hours for Mrs. McLaughlin will be held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2003 at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home. Funeral services for Iva Emma McLaughlin will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at the Christ Church, Rev. Kenneth Richards will officiate. Burial will follow at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence, Kansas. The family has suggested a memorial to the W. A.
