Howard L. Howell Howard Lesley Howell of Neodesha, KS, died Friday, February 08, 2008, at Golden Living Center in Neodesha. He was 80. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, at the Grace Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday 7-9 p.m. Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel is in charge of arrangements. The son of Sidney Wesley and Myrtle E. Moke Howell, he was born March 30, 1927, in Lafontaine, KS. He attended school in Lafontaine. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Johnson on April 6, 1945 in Decatur, IL. She survives at the home. He served with the US Army from 1945-47. Mr. Howell was a millwright supervisor for a number of different industries during his working career. He had lived for 14 years in Oregon before he and his wife returned to Neodesha in 1974. Mr. Howell was a member of the Grace Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Teresa Julian, Sandy Morris, Cheryl Moffatt, and Lisa Parks, all of Neodesha; four sons, Flint and Bryan Howell, both of Neodesha, Sidney Howell of Independence, KS, and Wayne Howell of Mankato, MN; one brother Lowell E. Howell of Cherryvale, KS; 30 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Sheila M. Zornes; four brothers; six sisters; and one great-grandchild. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Grace Baptist Church and may be left with the funeral home.
