NEODESHA, KS HELEN ELIZABETH GRABNER Helen Elizabeth Grabner, 86, of Merriam, Kansas formerly of Neodesha passed away Friday, December 26, 2003 at the Trinity Lutheran Manor in Merriam, Kansas. Helen was born April 20, 1917 in rural Neodesha, Kansas to John G. and Ida Henderson Grabner. Helen was raised and educated in Neodesha where she graduated from Neodesha High School in 1935. In 1948, she moved to Kansas City where she worked as a bookkeeper for the Scott Color Company until her retirement. She was a member of the Redemptrist Catholic Church, the Redemptrist Social Service, the Altar Society and Siena Club. Helen is survived by two brothers, Louis A. Grabner and his wife, Helen of Dallas, Texas and Richard E. Grabner and his wife, Shirley of Minster, Indiana and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Louise Valade and Dorothy Bambick; and three brothers, Robert Grabner, Francis Grabner and Carl Grabner. Visitation hours for Helen will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Neodesha, Kansas on Monday, December 29, 2003. Funeral mass for Helen Elizabeth Grabner will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church with Reverend Eugene Grabner celebrating the mass. Burial will follow at the Neodesha City Cemetery. The family has suggested a memorial contribution to the Wilson County Hospital Foundation.
