Helen Gilmore

Helen J. Gilmore Helen Jewell Gilmore, 92 of Neodesha, Kansas, died Wednesday, December 15, 2004, at Beverly Health Rehab in Neodesha. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2004, at the Bible Baptist Church with Pastor DeWayne Prosser officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Penwell Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel is in charge of arrangements. The daughter of Joshua V. and Sophronia Mae Bell Puckett, she was born March 19, 1912, in Buffalo, Kansas. She attended school in Middletown and later graduated from Fredonia High School. On January 12, 1942, she married Carlos Wayne Gilmore in Nevada, MO. He preceded her in death December 15, 1976. Mrs. Gilmore had also lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as well as Fredonia. She was a member of the Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She worked as a secretary in the Wilson County Courthouse for a time and also cleaned houses in Neodesha. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to the Avenue of Flags or the Bible Baptist Church.
