Harry Lee Bisnett, age 64 went to be with the Lord on September 2, 2013 at his home in Neodesha, KS surrounded by family after a yearlong battle with cancer.
Harry was born March 18, 1949 in Wichita, KS to Harry Lee Turner and Rosemary Bisnett Keeling. He married Marie Goodwin Bisnett on February 9, 1972 in Girard, KS. In 1976 they moved to Neodesha from Parsons and made Neodesha their permanent home. He received his GED and attended college at Independence Community College and Labette Community College. He was employed at USD 461 for the last 11 years as a custodian. He had also worked for various other places throughout the years including Parsons Livestock Market, Fredonia Livestock Market, Southeast Manufacturing, Neodesha Police Department, and hauled hay for local farmers.
He served in the U S Army from October 1968 to June 1974 with a honorable discharge.
Harry loved anything to do with working cattle and riding horses as well as team roping and playing around with the local saddle clubs. He loved doing magic tricks, pulling pranks on people, laughing, and making people laugh. He loved interacting with the young people at the school. He also enjoyed teaching his grandkids to rope and ride horses. He enjoyed helping with the Neodesha FFA.
Harry is survived by his wife, Marie Bisnett of the home, his three daughters Marcy Bisnett of Neodesha Becky and husband Bryan Tegethoff of Lowell AR Holly and husband Kary Tatum of Fredonia, KS his three brothers, Terry Steenrod of Litchfield MN Dave Turner and wife Susan of El Reno, OK Ron Turner and wife Sandie of Emmett, ID 1 sister Peg Black of El Reno, Ok 10 grandchildren Micheal, Olivia, and Mason Berryman Hannah, Steven, and Courtney Tegethoff Cailin, Alec, Audrey, and Ivan Tatum one great grandson Silas Tatum his mother Rosemary Keeling of Neodesha stepmother, AnnaLee Turner of El Reno, OK as well as many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Harry Lee Turner.
The funeral will be Thursday, September 5 at 2:30pm at the Christ Church of Neodesha with Pastor Pam Eury will be officiating, under the direction of Loran Fawcett Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday September 4, at Loran Fawcett Chapel from 9am until 7pm with family receiving friends from 5pm until 7pm. Interment will follow at Neodesha Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Harry would like donations made to the Neodesha FFA.
